Nightgown. The new French nightgowns are almost as formal as evening gowns. This one, very chic, can be made in two versions. One has a simple neckline and arm ruffles; the other has a wide neck ruffle and a  flounce at the hem. Both have a sash, attached at the side seams and tied in back.
